Questions & Guarantees

Everything you need to know about our screens and warranties

No. Our screens reduce approximately 65% of solar radiation, which actually helps keep your home cooler during Chicago's hot summers — but they won't noticeably darken your rooms. The mesh is so fine that your view stays clear and natural light flows through freely. Homeowners are consistently surprised by how little the screens affect visibility — most can't even tell they're there from inside.
Every screen we deliver is custom-made to fit your exact openings — measured to within 1/16 of an inch. These aren't mass-produced, off-the-shelf products. Our family-owned manufacturer in Mississippi handcrafts each screen specifically for your home. Demand for quality security screens is high nationwide, and multiple factories are working to keep up. We know the wait can be frustrating, but the precision and quality of your custom screens is absolutely worth it.
Yes — absolutely. Operational screens come equipped with an ADA-compliant egress latch on the inside. The screen is hinged and opens outward like a door. In an emergency, you simply flip the latch and push the screen open. It's designed to be easy enough for kids and elderly family members to operate. Open the latch, push, and you're out in seconds.
We offer six stock colors included at no extra charge: Black, Bronze, White, Almond, Charcoal Gray, and Anodized Grey. Both the frame and the mesh can be powder-coated in any of these colors. If you need a custom color to match your trim, front door, or HOA requirements, we can do that too — custom colors are available for an additional fee.
Quality security isn't cheap — and it shouldn't be. Every screen is handcrafted with top-tier materials: premium marine-grade stainless steel mesh, premium screws, premium aircraft-grade aluminum frames. No corners are cut. We build these screens as if they're going on our own homes — and they are on our homes. When it comes to protecting your family, you want the product that was built without compromise.
Pricing is based on the size and type of each opening, measured by united inch (width + height). As a general guide: fixed windows start around $800 installed, operational windows around $1,200, single swing doors around $2,000, French doors around $3,800, and sliding doors around $3,800. Every home is different, so the best way to get an accurate quote is to schedule a free in-home consultation. We'll give you a general estimate during the visit, then send over an exact itemized quote within 24–48 hours. No hidden fees.
We hear this one a lot. Security screens provide passive, 24/7 protection that works when you can't. A gun locked in a safe won't help when you're in the shower, sleeping, or away from home. A dog is a great deterrent, but it's not a barrier. Screens keep threats on the outside before they become a confrontation — so you never have to be in that situation in the first place. Think of them as your first line of defense, working around the clock.
Yes. Most French doors open inward, which makes them a perfect fit. Our security screens mount on the outside of the door frame and open outward — so there's no conflict with your existing doors. No modifications to your French doors are needed. They'll look and function exactly as they do now, with an invisible layer of security added on the outside.
Yes. Our screens are rated to withstand Category 4 hurricane conditions — winds up to 156 mph. The same stainless steel mesh that stops break-ins also protects against severe weather, flying debris, and even insects. It's one product that covers multiple threats: security, storm protection, and pest control all in one.
Absolutely. We handle the entire HOA approval process for you — pictures, drawings, specifications, and whatever documentation your association needs. We walk you through it every step of the way so there are no surprises. Because our screens are virtually invisible from just a few feet away, they're an easy approval for even the strictest HOAs.
We help you figure that out. During your free consultation, we'll identify the most vulnerable openings in your home — typically the front door, back sliding door, and ground-floor windows like kids' bedrooms. You don't have to do everything at once. Financing options are coming soon — ask us during your consultation for details. Start with what matters most, and build from there.
Yes. Unlike standard fiberglass or aluminum screens that tear easily, our stainless steel mesh is scratch-proof and push-resistant. Dogs and cats can lean on them, scratch at them, or push against them without causing damage. They're also ideal for pet enclosures — keeping your pets safely contained while allowing full airflow and visibility.
During the day, yes. The stainless steel mesh creates a one-way visual effect — you can see clearly from inside, but outside visibility into your home is limited. It's natural daytime privacy without curtains or blinds. At night with interior lights on, the effect reverses (like any window), so you'd still want window coverings for nighttime privacy.
Absolutely. The fine 12x12 stainless steel mesh blocks insects, wind-blown debris, and pests while allowing excellent airflow. It functions as a high-performance bug screen and a security barrier in one — so you can leave your windows open without worrying about what's getting in.
Lifetime

No Break-In Guarantee

We're so confident in our screens that we put our money where our mouth is. These screens have never had a single reported break-in. Not one.

But if it ever happens — if someone manages to breach a screen we installed — here's what we'll do:

  • Cover your theft insurance deductible up to $3,000
  • Replace the damaged screen completely free of charge

That's a lifetime guarantee. No expiration. No fine print. We believe in this product because we use it on our own homes.

15 Years

Peace of Mind Warranty

Every screen comes with a comprehensive 15-year warranty covering both parts and labor. If something isn't right, we fix it. Simple as that.

This isn't one of those warranties buried in fine print with a dozen exclusions designed to deny your claim. Our warranty is straightforward:

  • Full coverage for parts and labor for 15 years
  • No maintenance requirements to keep your warranty valid
  • No quibbles, no disputes, no runaround
  • If something's not right, we make it right

We're local. We're accountable. And we plan to be here long after your screens are installed.

Built for Your Family. Backed by Ours.

A warranty is only as good as the company behind it. We're not a faceless corporation — we're a family-owned business right here in Chicago. When you call us, you talk to us. When something needs attention, we show up.

Our screens are on our own homes, our families' homes, and our neighbors' homes. We wouldn't sell anything we wouldn't trust to protect the people we love.

Zero
Reported break-ins — ever
